{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-43.216.804","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 43.216.804","heading":"Copayments.","body":"(1) Effective until October 1, 2026, the department must calculate a monthly copayment according to the following schedule:\nIf the household's income is:\nThen the household's maximum monthly copayment is:\nAt or below 20 percent of the state median income\nWaived to the extent allowable under federal law; otherwise, a maximum of $15\nAbove 20 percent and at or below 36 percent of the state median income\n$65\nAbove 36 percent and at or below 50 percent of the state median income\n$90\nAbove 50 percent and at or below 60 percent of the state median income\n$165\nAbove 60 percent and at or below 75 percent of the state median income\n$215\n(2) Subject to the availability of amounts appropriated for this specific purpose, the department shall adopt a copayment model applicable until October 1, 2026, for households with annual incomes above 75 percent of the state median income and at or below 85 percent of the state median income. The model must calculate a copayment for each household that is no greater than seven percent of the household's countable income within this income range.\n(3) Beginning October 1, 2026, the department must calculate a monthly copayment according to the following schedule:\nIf the household's income is:\nThen the household's maximum monthly copayment is:\nBelow 25 percent of the state median income\n$0\nAt or above 25 percent and below 35 percent of the state median income\n25 percent of the state median income for a household of two, multiplied by five percent\nAt or above 35 percent and below 45 percent of the state median income\n35 percent of the state median income for a household of two, multiplied by 5.5 percent\nAt or above 45 percent and below 55 percent of the state median income\n45 percent of the state median income for a household of two, multiplied by six percent\nAt or above 55 percent of the state median income\n55 percent of the state median income for a household of two, multiplied by 6.5 percent\n(4) The department may adjust the copayment schedule to comply with federal law.\n(5) The department must adopt rules to implement this section.\n(6) This section does not apply to households eligible for the working connections child care program under RCW 43.216.808 and 43.216.814.","path":["Title 43","Chapter 43.216"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=43.216.804","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:58:11Z","sha256":"cd50869376939eaa9669424334195aa2d0ce395b55d66b391e7c34ed92936790","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-43.216.802","next":"us-wa/rcw-43.216.806"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
