{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-43.385.010","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 43.385.010","heading":"Definitions.","body":"The definitions in this section apply throughout this chapter unless the context clearly requires otherwise.\n(1) \"Assessment\" means the annual fee levied on tourism businesses to fund tourism promotion under this chapter.\n(2) \"Authority\" means the Washington tourism marketing authority created in RCW 43.384.020.\n(3) \"Department\" means the department of commerce.\n(4) \"Director\" means the director of the department or his or her designee.\n(5) \"Ratepayer oversight board\" means the board of representatives from businesses subject to the assessment.\n(6) \"Tourism business\" means businesses that derive a significant portion of revenue from tourism activity in Washington in the following sectors: (a) Lodging; (b) travel services; (c) attractions; (d) recreation; (e) beverage producers; (f) full-service restaurant locations with revenues exceeding $5,000,000 per year; and (g) retailer locations with revenues exceeding $5,000,000 per year.","path":["Title 43","Chapter 43.385"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=43.385.010","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T03:00:42Z","sha256":"03ca067b8e56542f5dc5918fc17395423dc57e69370f0d60ee502e1a9d7bc3c6","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-43.384.901","next":"us-wa/rcw-43.385.020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
