{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-43.92.090","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 43.92.090","heading":"Subsurface geologic information.","body":"(1) The geological survey shall compile and maintain a comprehensive database of publicly available subsurface geologic information relating to Washington state. The geological survey must make the database available to the public in a searchable format via the geological survey's website.\n(2) The subsurface geologic information contained on the website should include, but is not limited to, the following:\n(a) Temperature gradient logs;\n(b) Geothermal well records;\n(c) High resolution magnetotelluric surveys;\n(d) High resolution gravity surveys;\n(e) Geothermal play fairway studies;\n(f) Three-dimensional reflection seismic surveys; and\n(g) Rock properties databases.\n(3) The geological survey must:\n(a) Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies, and tribal governments, to compile existing subsurface geologic information;\n(b) Acquire, process, and analyze new subsurface geologic data and update deficient data using the best practicable technology;\n(c) Using available data, characterize the hazard of induced seismicity for high-potential geothermal play areas. Results of induced seismicity hazard studies must be made publicly available and updated as new information is available; and\n(d) Provide technical assistance on the proper interpretation and application of subsurface geologic data and hazard assessments.","path":["Title 43","Chapter 43.92"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=43.92.090","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:52:53Z","sha256":"fcf284d0a4830bdb04fea6d62d15224a161195aca0ea19839c3d54d73c95b661","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-43.92.080","next":"us-wa/rcw-43.92.900"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
