{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-46.04.272","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 46.04.272","heading":"Lightweight stud.","body":"(1) \"Lightweight stud\" means a stud intended for installation and use in a vehicle tire. As used in this title, this means a stud that is recommended by the manufacturer of the tire for the type and size of the tire and that:\n(a) Weighs no more than 1.5 grams if the stud conforms to Tire Stud Manufacturing Institute (TSMI) stud size 14 or less;\n(b) Weighs no more than 2.3 grams if the stud conforms to TSMI stud size 15 or 16; or\n(c) Weighs no more than 3.0 grams if the stud conforms to TSMI stud size 17 or larger.\n(2) A lightweight stud may contain any materials necessary to achieve the lighter weight.\n(3) Subsection (1) of this section does not apply to retractable studs as described in RCW 46.37.420.","path":["Title 46","Chapter 46.04"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.04.272","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T03:03:22Z","sha256":"0d7a734a8ae57ffee846b8aff7f9824cef671b941e5a56593e74007d93559693","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-46.04.271","next":"us-wa/rcw-46.04.274"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
