{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-62a.8-208","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 62A.8-208","heading":"Effect of signature of authenticating trustee, registrar, or transfer agent.","body":"(1) A person signing a security certificate as authenticating trustee, registrar, transfer agent, or the like, warrants to a purchaser for value of the certificated security, if the purchaser is without notice of a particular defect, that:\n(a) The certificate is genuine;\n(b) The person's own participation in the issue of the security is within the person's capacity and within the scope of the authority received by the person from the issuer; and\n(c) The person has reasonable grounds to believe that the certificated security is in the form and within the amount the issuer is authorized to issue.\n(2) Unless otherwise agreed, a person signing under subsection (1) of this section does not assume responsibility for the validity of the security in other respects.","path":["Title 62A","Chapter 62A.8"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=62A.8-208","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T03:39:20Z","sha256":"e6922c047b90c78d4b2f2ee755ebe77d83e562509f6e8dc18937706e246f4896","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-62a.8-207","next":"us-wa/rcw-62a.8-209"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
