{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-63.19.020","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 63.19.020","heading":"Chapter application.","body":"(1) Lease-purchase agreements that comply with this chapter are not governed by the laws relating to:\n(a) A consumer lease as defined in chapter 63.10 RCW;\n(b) A retail installment sale of goods or services as regulated under chapter 63.14 RCW;\n(c) A security interest as defined in Title 62A RCW; or\n(d) Loans, forbearances of money, goods, or things in action as governed by chapter 19.52 RCW.\n(2) This chapter does not apply to the following:\n(a) Lease-purchase agreements primarily for business, commercial, or agricultural purposes, or those made with governmental agencies or instrumentalities or with organizations;\n(b) A lease of a safe deposit box;\n(c) A lease or bailment of personal property that is incidental to the lease of real property, and that provides that the consumer has no option to purchase the leased property; or\n(d) A lease of an automobile.","path":["Title 63","Chapter 63.19"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=63.19.020","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T03:40:03Z","sha256":"aa8eb9ba24c707b7d430f9bca9b7d24c20f77a8d5ae878e0c894d8e5f6287f2e","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-63.19.010","next":"us-wa/rcw-63.19.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
