{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-70a.300.140","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 70A.300.140","heading":"Powers and duties of department.","body":"The department in performing its duties under this chapter may:\n(1) Conduct studies and coordinate research programs pertaining to extremely hazardous waste management;\n(2) Render technical assistance to generators of dangerous and extremely hazardous wastes and to state and local agencies in the planning and operation of hazardous waste programs;\n(3) Encourage and provide technical assistance to waste generators to form and operate a \"waste exchange\" for the purpose of finding users for dangerous and extremely hazardous wastes that would otherwise be disposed of: PROVIDED, That such technical assistance shall not violate the confidentiality of manufacturing processes; and\n(4) Provide for appropriate surveillance and monitoring of extremely hazardous waste disposal practices in the state.","path":["Title 70A","Chapter 70A.300"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=70A.300.140","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T04:00:29Z","sha256":"fd579181c6f1c32f3390f6798e3a9fc25c45147c02156f065f0d84acc53e00bd","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-70a.300.130","next":"us-wa/rcw-70a.300.150"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
