{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-71.12.730","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 71.12.730","heading":"Psychiatric hospitals—Managed care organizations.","body":"With respect to a person enrolled in medical assistance under chapter 74.09 RCW, a *psychiatric hospital shall make every effort to:\n(1) Inform the medicaid managed care organization in which the person is enrolled of the person's discharge or change in care plan on the following timelines:\n(a) For an anticipated discharge, no later than 24 hours prior to the known discharge date; or\n(b) For all other discharges, including if the person leaves against medical advice, no later than the date of discharge or departure from the facility; and\n(2) Engage with medicaid managed care organizations in discharge planning, which includes informing and connecting patients to care management resources at the appropriate managed care organization.","path":["Title 71","Chapter 71.12"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=71.12.730","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T03:43:49Z","sha256":"98e6a5227a965e1ea5abf5a55857ddd89dbdf45687aa398882f3ca2e09ad6ed7","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-71.12.720","next":"us-wa/rcw-71.12.740"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
