{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-72.05.425","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 72.05.425","heading":"Student records and information—Necessary for risk assessment, security classification, and proper placement—Rules.","body":"(1) The department shall establish by rule, in consultation with the office of the superintendent of public instruction, those student records and information necessary to conduct a risk assessment, make a security classification, and ensure proper placement. Those records shall include at least:\n(a) Any history of placement in special education programs;\n(b) Any past, current, or pending disciplinary action;\n(c) Any history of violent, aggressive, or disruptive behavior, or gang membership, or behavior listed in RCW 13.04.155;\n(d) Any use of weapons that is illegal or in violation of school policy;\n(e) Any history of truancy;\n(f) Any drug or alcohol abuse;\n(g) Any health conditions affecting the juvenile's placement needs; and\n(h) Any other relevant information.\n(2) For purposes of this section \"gang\" has the meaning defined in RCW 28A.225.225.","path":["Title 72","Chapter 72.05"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=72.05.425","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:04:15Z","sha256":"33b8f3f5b5ee64b96498bc76065ff7add5373aeadeb8659ae198bc066bf72970","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-72.05.420","next":"us-wa/rcw-72.05.430"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
