{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-72.11.010","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 72.11.010","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Unless a different meaning is plainly required by the context, the following words and phrases as hereafter used in this chapter shall have the following meanings:\n(1) \"Court-ordered legal financial obligation\" means a sum of money that is ordered by a superior court of the state of Washington for payment of restitution to a victim, statutorily imposed crime victims compensation fee, court costs, a county or interlocal drug fund, court-appointed attorneys' fees and costs of defense, fines, and any other legal financial obligation that is assessed as a result of a felony conviction.\n(2) \"Department\" means the department of corrections.\n(3) \"Offender\" means an individual who is currently under the jurisdiction of the Washington state department of corrections, and who also has a court-ordered legal financial obligation as a result of a felony conviction.\n(4) \"Secretary\" means the secretary of the department of corrections or the secretary's designee.\n(5) \"Superintendent\" means the superintendent of a correctional facility under the jurisdiction of the Washington state department of corrections.","path":["Title 72","Chapter 72.11"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=72.11.010","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T04:07:20Z","sha256":"596e3d1a56e4a6935e05579a4fbc6f946cff8a6de7356384c85263ded22cdfdf","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-72.10.070","next":"us-wa/rcw-72.11.020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
