{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-81.100.040","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 81.100.040","heading":"Adoption of goals.","body":"The legislature encourages counties, in conjunction with cities, metropolitan planning organizations, and transit agencies in metropolitan areas to adopt goals for reducing the proportion of commuters who drive in single-occupant vehicles during peak commuting periods. Any county imposing a tax under this chapter must adopt such goals. In adopting these goals, counties shall consider at least the following:\n(1) Existing and anticipated levels of peak-period traffic congestion on roadways used by employees in commuting to work;\n(2) Existing and anticipated levels of transit and vanpool service and carpool programs available to and from the worksite;\n(3) Variations in employment density and employer size;\n(4) Availability and cost of parking; and\n(5) Consistency of the goals with the regional transportation plan.","path":["Title 81","Chapter 81.100"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=81.100.040","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T04:26:15Z","sha256":"89e2cfa75aa408b191a1c122a5060938c79d6601bdc3a2ca6de604926277fcc2","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-81.100.030","next":"us-wa/rcw-81.100.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
