{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-88.02.590","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 88.02.590","heading":"Duplicate registration certificates.","body":"(1) A registered owner or the registered owner's authorized representative shall promptly apply for a duplicate registration certificate when a registration certificate is lost, stolen, mutilated, or destroyed, or becomes illegible. The application for a duplicate registration certificate must:\n(a) Be accompanied by an affidavit of loss or destruction;\n(b) Include information required by the department; and\n(c) Be accompanied by the fee required in *RCW 88.02.640(1)(d), in addition to any other fees or taxes required for the transaction.\n(2) A person recovering a registration certificate for which a duplicate has been issued shall promptly return the registration certificate that has been recovered to the department.","path":["Title 88","Chapter 88.02"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=88.02.590","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T04:38:00Z","sha256":"f69555c3951fe356711d60f69a4f410ed12d8e367b54d062bc05079459e4110e","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-88.02.580","next":"us-wa/rcw-88.02.592"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
