{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-9.94a.828","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 9.94A.828","heading":"Special allegation—Trafficking in catalytic converters.","body":"The court shall make a finding of fact of the special allegation or, if a jury is had, the jury shall, if it finds the defendant guilty, also find a special verdict as to the special allegation, in a criminal case where:\n(1) The defendant has been convicted of trafficking in catalytic converters in the first degree; and\n(2) There has been a special allegation pleaded and proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant knowingly (a) trafficked seven or more catalytic converters that were removed from a motor vehicle without fulfilling the requirements under chapter 46.79 or 46.80 RCW for lawful transfer; or (b) purchased a catalytic converter that has been removed from a motor vehicle without possessing a valid scrap processor license under chapter 46.79 RCW or vehicle wrecker license under chapter 46.80 RCW, for the purpose of selling, transferring, or exchanging them online.","path":["Title 9","Chapter 9.94A"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=9.94A.828","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T00:48:27Z","sha256":"c680a0c4508dc69fe7ed0f591532e7ff823b27446376c19900a069890132c2c3","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-9.94a.827","next":"us-wa/rcw-9.94a.829"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
