Stat. § 118.335","heading":"Tribal regalia at graduation ceremonies or school-sponsored events.","body":"(1) In this section:\n(a) “Traditional tribal regalia” means a tribe’s traditional dress or recognized objects of religious or cultural significance, including tribal symbols, beads, and feathers.\n(b) “Tribe” means a federally recognized American Indian tribe or band or an American Indian tribe or band that was previously a federally recognized American Indian tribe or band.\n(2) No school board or charter school may prohibit a pupil who is any of the following from wearing traditional tribal regalia at a graduation ceremony or school-sponsored event:\n(a) A member of a tribe.\n(b) A descendant of a member of a tribe.\n(c) Eligible to be enrolled as a member of a tribe.","path":["Chs. 115-121, Public Instruction","Chapter 118 General School Operations"],"source_url":"https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/document/statutes/118.335","current_through":"2023-24 Wisconsin Statutes updated through 2025 Wis.
