Stat. § 59.001","heading":"Definitions.","body":"In this chapter, unless the context clearly indicates to the contrary:\n(1) “Board” means the county board of supervisors.\n(2) “Clerk” means the county clerk.\n(2m) “Members-elect” means those members of the governing body of a county, city, village or town, at a particular time, who have been duly elected or appointed for a current regular or unexpired term and whose service has not terminated by death, resignation or removal from office.\n(2r) “Municipal clerk” means the clerk of a municipality.\n(3) “Municipality” means any city, village or town.\n(3m) “Municipal treasurer” means the treasurer of a municipality.\n(3r) “Professional land surveyor” means a professional land surveyor licensed under ch. 443.\n(4) “Treasurer” means the county treasurer.","path":["Chs. 59-68, Functions and Government of Municipalities","Chapter 59 Counties","SUBCHAPTER I DEFINITIONS"],"source_url":"https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/document/statutes/59.001","current_through":"2023-24 Wisconsin Statutes updated through 2025 Wis.
