Stat. § 14-11-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) As used in this act:\n(i) \"Abuse\" means as defined by W.S. 14-3-202(a)(ii);\n(ii) \"Child protective agency\" means as defined by W.S. 14-3-202(a)(iv);\n(iii) \"Fire station\" means a fire station that is open and operating twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, and that is continually staffed with full- time, paid firefighters who have emergency medical services training;\n(iv) \"Hospital\" means a general acute hospital that is:\n(A) Equipped with an emergency room;\n(B) Open twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week; and\n(C) Employs full-time health care professionals who have emergency medical services training.\n(v) \"Neglect\" means as defined by W.S. 14-3-202(a)(vii);\n(vi) \"Newborn child\" means a child who is sixty (60) days of age or younger as determined within a reasonable degree of medical certainty;\n(vii) \"Safe haven provider\" means any of the following that is staffed twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week:\n(A) A fire station;\n(B) A hospital;\n(C) A police department or sheriff's office; or\n(D) Any other place of shelter and safety identified by the department of family services which meets the requirements of rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to W.S. 14-11-107.\n(viii) \"This act\" means W.S. 14-11-101 through 14-11-109.","path":["TITLE 14 - CHILDREN","CHAPTER 11 - SAFETY FOR A NEWBORN CHILD"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title14.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"9282e87e8aca6efd05547f4d36af3b05ee7d94b4a17005f816976871c21769cc","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-14-11-101","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-14-11-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
