Stat. § 14-2-809","heading":"Limitation; child having acknowledged or adjudicated father.","body":"(a) If a child has an acknowledged father, a signatory to the acknowledgment of paternity or denial of paternity may commence a proceeding seeking to rescind the acknowledgement or denial or challenge the paternity of the child only within the time allowed under W.S. 14-2-607 or 14-2-608.\n(b) If a child has an acknowledged father or an adjudicated father, an individual, other than the child, who is neither a signatory to the acknowledgment of paternity nor a party to the adjudication and who seeks an adjudication of paternity of the child shall commence a proceeding not later than two (2) years after the effective date of the acknowledgment or adjudication.\n(c) A proceeding under this section is subject to the application of the principles of estoppel established under W.S. 14-2-808.","path":["TITLE 14 - CHILDREN","CHAPTER 2 - PARENTS","ARTICLE 8 - PROCEEDING TO ADJUDICATE PARENTAGE"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title14.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"6de0142bc91beaaec160e0cfe3eb8f88cdd4048e967d757a2c74462f2ee3fc64","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-14-2-808","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-14-2-810"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
