Stat. § 15-1-108","heading":"Powers and duties of mayor; appointment of mayor pro tem.","body":"(a) Unless otherwise provided by statute, the mayor shall:\n(i) Preside at all meetings of the governing body, and in his absence a councilman shall be appointed to act as mayor pro tem;\n(ii) Have superintending control of all officers and affairs of the city or town;\n(iii) Take care that the ordinances and laws are complied with;\n(iv) Administer oaths;\n(v) Sign commissions and appointments and all bonds, contracts and other obligations required to be signed in the name of the city or town; and\n(vi) Have one (1) vote on all matters coming before the governing body upon which a vote is taken, except a vote:\n(A) To override a veto;\n(B) To confirm an appointment other than a vote to break a tie vote of the governing body; and\n(C) Pursuant to a hearing for removal or discharge as provided in W.S. 15-2-102(b)(iv)(C) or 15-3-204(b)(iv)(C).\n(b) Repealed by Laws 1984, ch. 15, § 2.","path":["TITLE 15 - CITIES AND TOWNS","CHAPTER 1 GENERAL PROVISIONS","ARTICLE 1 - POWERS AND MISCELLANEOUS MATTER"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title15.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"c6c476252803a12c305929ab015f3ca854786c3d2ead7a6f70c069b98fa296c9","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-15-1-107","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-15-1-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
