Stat. § 18-1-306","heading":"Commissioners to appoint clerk; oath of clerk; calling election.","body":"(a) The appointed commissioners shall:\n(i) Appoint a clerk who shall take an oath that he will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of his office as prescribed by law and shall also take the oath required of a county clerk;\n(ii) Designate a place for the transaction of their official duties;\n(iii) Call for an election for the purpose of having the qualified electors of the proposed new county decide:\n(A) If the proposed new county should be organized; and\n(B) The location of the county seat of the proposed new county.\n(b) The election may be held on an election date authorized under W.S. 22-21-103 or another date specified by the appointed commissioners.","path":["TITLE 18 - COUNTIES","CHAPTER 1 - GENERALLY","ARTICLE 3 - ORGANIZATION OF NEW COUNTIES"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title18.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"dc0eba77d7cc93a5a1e8e9f0346f9678a06be23fa9340e5d0f520d7700d2cd6f","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-18-1-305","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-18-1-307"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
