Stat. § 19-9-502","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) As used in this article:\n(i) \"Authorized courses\" means:\n(A) Credit courses which meet undergraduate or graduate degree requirements; and\n(B) Credit courses which meet requirements for completion of vocational or technical training for a declared educational objective meeting requirements of rules promulgated pursuant to this article.\n(ii) \"Federal tuition assistance\" means any payment made to or on behalf of a member by the federal government for educational assistance, excluding benefits paid pursuant to the Montgomery GI Bill;\n(iii) \"Member\" means an active, in good standing, member of the Wyoming national guard;\n(iv) \"Montgomery GI Bill\" means the federal Montgomery GI Bill Act of 1984, Public Law 98 – 525 and subsequent amendments thereto;\n(v) \"Plan\" means the educational assistance plan established under this article;\n(vi) \"Wyoming institution of higher education\" or \"institution\" means a public or private educational institution located within this state and approved for payment of Montgomery GI Bill benefits. \"Institution\" includes a public or private educational institution offering an accredited degree program in Wyoming through distance education under a partnership agreement with any branch of the United States armed forces;\n(vii) \"Wyoming public institutions of higher education\" means the University of Wyoming and Wyoming community colleges;\n(viii) \"Dependent\" means a person enrolled as a dependent in the defense enrollment eligibility reporting system.","path":["TITLE 19 - DEFENSE FORCES AND AFFAIRS","CHAPTER 9 - WYOMING NATIONAL GUARD","ARTICLE 5 - EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title19.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"6b14817c577d93e6d1b38154ed1319ac514189d87daaeba8d57085db54b1aa98","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-19-9-501","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-19-9-503"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
