Stat. § 20-4-170","heading":"Establishment of support order.","body":"(a) If a support order entitled to recognition under this act has not been issued, a responding tribunal of this state with personal jurisdiction over the parties may issue a support order if:\n(i) The individual seeking the order resides outside this state; or\n(ii) The support enforcement agency seeking the order is located outside this state.\n(b) The tribunal may issue a temporary child support order if the tribunal determines that the order is appropriate and the individual ordered to pay is:\n(i) A presumed father of the child;\n(ii) Petitioning to have his paternity adjudicated;\n(iii) Identified as the father of the child through genetic testing;\n(iv) An alleged father who has declined to submit to genetic testing;\n(v) Shown by clear and convincing evidence to be the father of the child;\n(vi) An acknowledged father as provided by W.S. 14-2-601 et seq.;\n(vii) The mother of the child; or\n(viii) An individual who has been ordered to pay child support in a previous proceeding and the order has not been reversed or vacated.\n(c) Upon finding, after notice and opportunity to be heard, that an obligor owes a duty of support, the tribunal shall issue a support order directed to the obligor and may issue other orders pursuant to W.S. 20-4-155.","path":["TITLE 20 - DOMESTIC RELATIONS","CHAPTER 4 - UNIFORM INTERSTATE FAMILY SUPPORT ACT","ARTICLE 1 - GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title20.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"300707a965015c56d5a4c612f704941f69436448206299110c1c88be0f93ec81","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-20-4-169","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-20-4-171"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
