Stat. § 20-4-201","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) As used in this article:\n(i) \"Application\" means a request under the convention by an obligee or obligor, or on behalf of a child, made through a central authority for assistance from another central authority;\n(ii) \"Central authority\" means the entity designated by the United States or a foreign country described in W.S. 20-4-140(a)(xxviii) to perform the functions specified in the convention, as defined in W.S. 20-4-140(a)(xxvii);\n(iii) \"Convention support order\" means a support order of a tribunal of a foreign country described in W.S. 20-4-140(a)(xxviii);\n(iv) \"Direct request\" means a petition filed by an individual in a tribunal of this state in a proceeding involving an obligee, obligor or child residing outside the United States;\n(v) \"Foreign central authority\" means the entity designated by a foreign country described in W.S. 20-4-140(a)(xxviii) to perform the functions specified in the convention;\n(vi) \"Foreign support agreement\":\n(A) Means an agreement for support in a record that:\n(I) Is enforceable as a support order in the country of origin;\n(II) Has been:\n(1) Formally drawn up or registered as an authentic instrument by a foreign tribunal; or\n(2) Authenticated by, or concluded, registered or filed with a foreign tribunal; and\n(III) May be reviewed and modified by a foreign tribunal; and\n(B) Includes a maintenance arrangement or authentic instrument under the convention.\n(vii) \"United States central authority\" means the secretary of the United States department of health and human services.","path":["TITLE 20 - DOMESTIC RELATIONS","CHAPTER 4 - UNIFORM INTERSTATE FAMILY SUPPORT ACT","ARTICLE 2 - SUPPORT PROCEEDINGS UNDER CONVENTION"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title20.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"60c6bfab4ef629e56995bbba6173165979de06324c6d5125e8050f230055ad88","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-20-4-198","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-20-4-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
