Stat. § 20-5-302","heading":"Exclusive, continuing jurisdiction.","body":"(a) Except as provided in W.S. 20-5-304, a court of this state which has made a child custody determination consistent with W.S. 20-5-301 or 20-5-303 has exclusive, continuing jurisdiction over the determination until:\n(i) A court of this state determines that the child, the child's parents and any person acting as a parent do not have a significant connection with this state and that substantial evidence is no longer available in this state concerning the child's care, protection, training and personal relationships; or\n(ii) A court of this state or a court of another state determines that the child, the child's parents and any person acting as a parent do not presently reside in this state.\n(b) A court of this state which has made a child custody determination and does not have exclusive, continuing jurisdiction under this section may modify that determination only if it has jurisdiction to make an initial determination under W.S. 20-5-301.","path":["TITLE 20 - DOMESTIC RELATIONS","CHAPTER 5 - CHILD CUSTODY","ARTICLE 3 - JURISDICTION"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title20.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"fff488125d35d940a989c63885705db5172db097679d8d2af2d7a9eab5b940ab","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-20-5-301","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-20-5-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
