Stat. § 20-5-303","heading":"Jurisdiction to modify determination.","body":"(a) Except as provided in W.S. 20-5-304, a court of this state may not modify a child custody determination made by a court of another state unless the court of this state has jurisdiction to make an initial determination under W.S. 20-5-301(a)(i) or (ii) and:\n(i) The court of the other state determines it no longer has exclusive, continuing jurisdiction under a provision of law from that state that is in substantial conformity with W.S. 20-5-302 or that a court of this state would be a more convenient forum under a provision of law from that state that is in substantial conformity with W.S. 20-5-307; or\n(ii) A court of this state or a court of the other state determines that the child, the child's parents and any person acting as a parent do not presently reside in the other state.","path":["TITLE 20 - DOMESTIC RELATIONS","CHAPTER 5 - CHILD CUSTODY","ARTICLE 3 - JURISDICTION"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title20.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"75e697fbf0c8b9bda254ab10c0d7fc83be95a19bad88c339e70beb32eacb8111","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-20-5-302","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-20-5-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
