Stat. § 21-24-101","heading":"Purpose.","body":"(a) It is the purpose of this compact to remove barriers to educational success imposed on children of military families because of frequent moves and deployment of their parents by:\n(i) Facilitating the timely enrollment of children of military families and ensuring that they are not placed at a disadvantage due to difficulty in the transfer of education records from the previous school district or variations in entrance-age requirements;\n(ii) Facilitating the student placement process through which children of military families are not disadvantaged by variations in attendance requirements, scheduling, sequencing, grading, course content or assessment;\n(iii) Facilitating the qualification and eligibility for enrollment, educational programs and participation in extracurricular academic, athletic and social activities;\n(iv) Facilitating the on-time graduation of children of military families;\n(v) Providing for the promulgation and enforcement of administrative rules implementing the provisions of this compact;\n(vi) Providing for the uniform collection and sharing of information between and among member states, schools and military families under this compact;\n(vii) Promoting coordination between this compact and other compacts affecting military children;\n(viii) Promoting flexibility and cooperation between the educational system, parents and the student in order to achieve educational success for the student.","path":["TITLE 21 - EDUCATION","CHAPTER 24 - MILITARY STUDENTS AND STUDENTS OF MILITARY FAMILIES","ARTICLE 1 - INTERSTATE COMPACT ON STUDENTS OF MILITARY FAMILIES"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title21.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"a29f52b13753ee321cfa61365a0a2150ced75d89a8c937d34461966edbe33c41","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-21-23-202","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-21-24-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
