Stat. § 25-10-108","heading":"Release upon request; exceptions; discharge plan.","body":"(a) A patient admitted pursuant to W.S. 25-10-106 who requests his release in writing or whose release is requested in writing by the person responsible for his care or custody, shall be released within twenty-four (24) hours after receipt of the request except:\n(i) If the patient was admitted on his own application and the request for release is made by a person other than the patient, release may be conditioned upon the consent of the patient; or\n(ii) If the patient is a minor or incompetent, his release may be conditioned upon the consent of his parent or guardian.\n(b) The hospital shall prepare a discharge plan in accordance with policies, rules and regulations of the department.","path":["TITLE 25 - INSTITUTIONS OF THE STATE","CHAPTER 10 - HOSPITALIZATION OF MENTALLY ILL PERSONS","ARTICLE 1 - GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title25.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"70e3e87e27dddca71f480f5a651df3b519336c3477c337c80b0077a3f7a2f765","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-25-10-107","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-25-10-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
