Stat. § 26-33-101","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) As used in this chapter:\n(i) \"Account\" means the medical liability compensation account;\n(ii) \"Board\" means the board of directors of the medical liability compensation account;\n(iii) \"Health care\" means any act or treatment performed or furnished, or which should have been performed or furnished, by any physician for, to, or on behalf of a patient during the patient's medical care, treatment or confinement;\n(iv) \"Insurer\" means an authority or an insurance company engaged in writing malpractice liability insurance in this state in accordance with this code;\n(v) \"Malpractice\" means the rendering of or failure to render professional medical services as a result of which the patient has a cause of action against a licensed physician for monetary damages;\n(vi) \"Physician\" means a person licensed by the state board of medicine to provide health care or professional services as a physician.","path":["TITLE 26 - INSURANCE CODE","CHAPTER 33 - MEDICAL MALPRACTICE INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title26.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"515195a6f217d9bd2a7f83ed6ac0b0a6964115393eb0fbc5c8826cb492679686","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-26-32-201","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-26-33-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
