Stat. § 26-38-201","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) As used in this act:\n(i) \"Applicant\" means:\n(A) In the case of an individual Medicare supplement policy, the person who seeks to contract for insurance benefits; and\n(B) In the case of a group Medicare supplement policy, the proposed certificate holder.\n(ii) \"Certificate\" means any certificate delivered or issued for delivery in this state under a group Medicare supplement policy;\n(iii) \"Certificate form\" means the form on which the certificate is delivered or issued for delivery by the issuer;\n(iv) \"Issuer\" includes insurance companies, fraternal benefit societies, health care service plans, health maintenance organizations and any other entity delivering or issuing for delivery in this state Medicare supplement policies or certificates;\n(v) \"Medicare supplement policy\" means a group or individual disability insurance policy or a subscriber contract of hospital and medical service associations or health maintenance organizations other than a policy issued pursuant to a contract under section 1876 of the federal Social Security Act, or an issued policy under a demonstration project specified in 42 U.S.C. 1395ss(g)(1), which is advertised, marketed or designed primarily as a supplement to reimbursements under Medicare for the hospital, medical or surgical expenses of persons eligible for Medicare;\n(vi) \"Medicare\" means the \"Health Insurance for the Aged Act,\" Title XVIII of the Social Security Amendments of 1965, as then constituted or later amended;\n(vii) \"Policy form\" means the form on which the policy is delivered or issued for delivery by the issuer;\n(viii) \"This act\" means W.S. 26-38-201 through 26-38-209.","path":["TITLE 26 - INSURANCE CODE","CHAPTER 38 - LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE","ARTICLE 2 - MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title26.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"5f6ca297e7d3cbe88ce5eb4da01b6fc5e5e5b688cbda9e2f6a93dd4821afd2a1","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-26-38-111","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-26-38-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
