Stat. § 27-4-201","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) As used in this act:\n(i) \"Wage\" means compensation due to an employee by reason of his employment;\n(ii) \"Employ\" includes to suffer or to permit to work;\n(iii) \"Employer\" includes any individual, partnership, association, corporation, business trust, or any person or group of persons acting directly or indirectly in the interest of an employer in relation to an employee;\n(iv) \"Employee\" includes any individual employed by an employer but shall not include:\n(A) Any individual employed in agriculture;\n(B) Any individual employed in domestic service in or about a private home;\n(C) Any individual employed in a bona fide executive, administrative, or professional capacity;\n(D) Any individual employed by the United States, or by the state or any political subdivision thereof;\n(E) Any individual engaged in the activities of an educational, charitable, religious, or nonprofit organization where the employer-employee relationship does not, in fact, exist or where the services rendered to such organization are on a voluntary basis;\n(F) Repealed By Laws 2001, Ch. 1, § 2.\n(G) Any individual employed as an outside salesman whose compensation is solely commission on sales;\n(H) Any individual whose employment is driving an ambulance or other vehicle from time to time as necessity requires but who is on call at any time;\n(J) Repealed By Laws 2001, Ch. 1, § 2.\n(v) In this act, \"shall\" is used in an imperative sense and \"may\" is used in a permissive sense;\n(vi) \"Occupation\" means any occupation, service, trade, business, industry, or branch or group of industries or employment or class of employment in which individuals are gainfully employed.","path":["TITLE 27 - LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT","CHAPTER 4 - WAGES","ARTICLE 2 - MINIMUM WAGES"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title27.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"cab42961819974d825df5ed678305ca986a7362503d3716a0e30aeb303dccf18","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-27-4-116","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-27-4-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
