Stat. § 31-2-205","heading":"Display of license plates.","body":"(a) License plates for vehicles shall be:\n(i) Conspicuously displayed and securely fastened to be plainly visible:\n(A) One (1) on the front of the vehicle, excluding the following:\n(I) Motorcycles;\n(II) Multipurpose vehicles;\n(III) Trailers, including house trailers;\n(IV) Vehicles operated with demo, full use or manufacturer license plates issued pursuant to W.S. 31-16-125;\n(V) Street rods registered pursuant to W.S. 31-2-226;\n(VI) Custom vehicles registered pursuant to W.S. 31-2-227;\n(VII) Antique vehicles registered pursuant to W.S. 31-2-223;\n(VIII) A motor vehicle which was originally manufactured without a bracket, device or other means to display and secure a front license plate;\n(IX) Off-road recreational vehicles as defined by W.S. 31-1-101(a)(xv)(K)(II) that are registered pursuant to W.S. 31-2-232.\n(B) One (1) on the rear of the vehicle.\n(ii) Secured to prevent swinging;\n(iii) Attached in a horizontal position no less than twelve (12) inches from the ground;\n(iv) Maintained free from foreign materials and in a condition to be clearly legible.\n(b) Repealed by Laws 1991, ch. 37, § 1.","path":["TITLE 31 - MOTOR VEHICLES","CHAPTER 2 - TITLE AND REGISTRATION","ARTICLE 2 - REGISTRATION"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title31.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"86725b8a38cceb174e8a7fe36c7f9de84a7fd6c931b98d0f88e1e9df3c4705b4","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-31-2-204","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-31-2-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
