Stat. § 31-5-504","heading":"Specific places where prohibited.","body":"(a) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device, no person shall:\n(i) Stop, stand or park a vehicle:\n(A) On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street;\n(B) On a sidewalk;\n(C) Within an intersection;\n(D) On a crosswalk;\n(E) Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within thirty (30) feet of points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless a different length is indicated by signs or markings;\n(F) Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic;\n(G) Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a highway or within a highway tunnel;\n(H) On any railroad tracks;\n(J) On any controlled-access highway;\n(K) In the area between roadways of a divided highway, including crossovers;\n(M) At any place where official traffic-control devices prohibit stopping.\n(ii) Stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except momentarily to pick up or discharge a passenger or passengers:\n(A) In front of a public or private driveway;\n(B) Within fifteen (15) feet of a fire hydrant;\n(C) Within twenty (20) feet of a crosswalk at an intersection;\n(D) Within twenty (20) feet upon the approach to any flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign or traffic-control signal located at the side of a roadway;\n(E) Within twenty (20) feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within seventy-five (75) feet of the entrance when properly signposted;\n(F) At any place where official traffic-control devices prohibit standing.\n(iii) Park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading property or passengers:\n(A) Within fifty (50) feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing;\n(B) At any place where official traffic-control devices prohibit parking.\n(b) No person shall move a vehicle not lawfully under his control into any prohibited area or away from a curb such a distance as is unlawful.","path":["TITLE 31 - MOTOR VEHICLES","CHAPTER 5 - REGULATION OF TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAYS","ARTICLE 5 - STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title31.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"7a8a1debd797830aaf3413ba3fe1bbfa0d7c3090e39a04eb2ab54686498e5846","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-31-5-503","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-31-5-505"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
