Stat. § 31-5-801","heading":"Operation on highways.","body":"(a) Snowmobiles may be operated upon the highways of Wyoming subject to the following conditions:\n(i) Snowmobiles may be operated within the right-of-way but not on the main traveled roadway except as provided hereafter;\n(ii) Crossings of main-traveled roadways shall be made at right angles to the roadway or as nearly so as practicable, but in any case yielding the right-of-way to all traffic in the main-traveled roadway;\n(iii) Snowmobiles may be operated on the highways within the cities and towns pursuant to ordinance;\n(iv) Snowmobiles may be operated on the main-traveled roadway when the highway is closed to wheeled vehicular traffic or subject to approval of the state highway department, upon a designated and posted portion of a state roadway within the boundaries of a national park;\n(v) If allowed by the county commissioners, snowmobiles may be operated on a designated and posted portion of a county roadway.","path":["TITLE 31 - MOTOR VEHICLES","CHAPTER 5 - REGULATION OF TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAYS","ARTICLE 8 - SNOWMOBILES"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title31.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"6228efe1a2a558c43cde5078d02737982c3a88ed7f00fd8411cf82cd2717cba5","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-31-5-707","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-31-5-901"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
