Stat. § 34.1-9-314","heading":"Perfection by control.","body":"(a) A security interest in investment property, deposit accounts, letter-of-credit rights, electronic chattel paper or electronic documents may be perfected by control of the collateral under section 34.1-7-106, 34.1-9-104, 34.1-9-105, 34.1-9-106 or 34.1-9-107.\n(b) A security interest in deposit accounts, electronic chattel paper, letter-of-credit rights or electronic documents is perfected by control under section 34.1-7-106, 34.1-9-104, 34.1-9-105 or 34.1-9-107 when the secured party obtains control and remains perfected by control only while the secured party retains control.\n(c) A security interest in investment property is perfected by control under section 34.1-9-106 from the time the secured party obtains control and remains perfected by control until:\n(i) The secured party does not have control; and\n(ii) One (1) of the following occurs:\n(A) If the collateral is a certificated security, the debtor has or acquires possession of the security certificate;\n(B) If the collateral is an uncertificated security, the issuer has registered or registers the debtor as the registered owner; or\n(C) If the collateral is a security entitlement, the debtor is or becomes the entitlement holder.","path":["TITLE 34.1 - UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE","ARTICLE 9 - SECURED TRANSACTIONS","PART 3 PERFECTION AND PRIORITY"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title34.1.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"035a935a4270485b5c7be7f1c551e998e3525bb9c79a2ee62ff51f9085dd85c3","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-34.1-9-313","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-34.1-9-315"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
