Stat. § 35-11-510","heading":"Lead acid batteries; collection for recycling.","body":"(a) A person selling lead acid batteries at retail or offering lead acid batteries for retail sale in the state shall:\n(i) Accept, at the point of transfer, in a quantity at least equal to the number of new batteries purchased per year, used lead acid batteries from customers, if offered by customers; and\n(ii) Post written notice which shall be at least eight and one-half (8 1/2) inches by eleven (11) inches in size and shall contain the universal recycling symbol and the following language:\n(A) It is illegal to discard a motor vehicle battery or other lead acid battery;\n(B) Recycle your used batteries; and\n(C) State law requires us to accept used motor vehicle batteries or other lead acid batteries for recycling in exchange for new batteries purchased.","path":["TITLE 35 - PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY","CHAPTER 11 - ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY","ARTICLE 5 - SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title35.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"471b589849ecb87ecc13e6e7e1b33589595d3e7507a5495e2c2130a4825ad8a3","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-35-11-509","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-35-11-511"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
