Stat. § 35-22-502","heading":"POLST program.","body":"(a) The provider orders for life sustaining treatment (POLST) program is a process of evaluation and communication between a patient, or the patient's agent, guardian or surrogate, and health care professionals in order to:\n(i) Ensure that health care providers understand the desires of the patient, or the patient’s agent, guardian or surrogate, regarding medical treatment as the patient nears the end of life;\n(ii) Convert the patient's goals and preferences for care into a set of medical orders on a POLST form that is portable across care settings to be complied with by all health professionals; and\n(iii) Provide the patient and the patient's agent, guardian or surrogate, if any, with a copy of the completed POLST form.\n(b) Unless otherwise provided in this article, terms in this article shall have the same meaning as in the Wyoming Health Care Decisions Act.","path":["TITLE 35 - PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY","CHAPTER 22 - LIVING WILL","ARTICLE 5 - PROVIDER ORDERS FOR LIFE SUSTAINING TREATMENT PROGRAM ACT"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title35.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"c3dc0c8507498588050382d430a6bb2f88e69b6ab945330599cd5200ab8877c2","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-35-22-501","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-35-22-503"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
