Stat. § 35-30-101","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) As used in this act:\n(i) \"Aftercare\" means any assistance provided by a designated caregiver to a patient pursuant to this act after the patient's discharge from a hospital. Assistance under this act may include the performance of tasks necessary for the treatment of the patient's condition at the time of discharge and which do not require a licensed professional;\n(ii) \"Caregiver\" means any person eighteen (18) years of age or older, including next of kin, duly designated as a caregiver pursuant to the provisions of this act who provides aftercare to a patient in the patient's residence;\n(iii) \"Discharge\" means a patient's exit or release from a hospital to the patient's residence following any inpatient stay;\n(iv) \"Hospital\" means as defined by W.S. 35-2-901(a)(xiii);\n(v) \"Representative of the patient\" means any person who:\n(A) Is a legal guardian;\n(B) Holds a medical or legal power of attorney; or\n(C) Is a representative named in an advance care directive in Wyoming or other similar law in another state.\n(vi) \"Residence\" means a dwelling considered by a patient to be his home, but does not include:\n(A) A hospital;\n(B) A nursing care facility as defined by W.S. 35-2-901(a)(xvi); or\n(C) An assisted living facility as defined by W.S. 35-2-901(a)(xxii).\n(vii) \"This act\" means W.S. 35-30-101 through 35-30-106.","path":["TITLE 35 - PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY","CHAPTER 30 - WYOMING CAREGIVER ACT"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title35.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"48bb60474dc2872d95ba32047aadbe44a182aa2c15e2dcfacfa096d612ec045d","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-35-29-112","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-35-30-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
