Stat. § 40-2-101","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) As used in this act unless the context otherwise requires:\n(i) \"Applicant\" means a person filing an application for registration or reservation of a trade name under this act, his legal representatives, successors or assigns;\n(ii) \"Person\" means an individual, corporation, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, unincorporated association, two (2) or more of the foregoing having a joint or common interest, or any other legal or commercial entity;\n(iii) \"Registrant\" means a person to whom registration of a trade name under this act is issued, his legal representatives, successors or assigns;\n(iv) \"Trade name\" means a word, name, or any combination of the foregoing in any form or arrangement used by a person to identify his business, vocation, or occupation and distinguish it from the business, vocation or occupation of others;\n(v) \"This act\" means W.S. 40-2-101 through 40-2-111.","path":["TITLE 40 - TRADE AND COMMERCE","CHAPTER 2 - TRADE NAMES REGISTRATION"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title40.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"45f4ebc4caa0871e25ae926a21825e14682be8d89cdc5c09fdd2f1d720337f1e","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-40-1-205","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-40-2-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
