Stat. § 7-2-102","heading":"Preconditions for arrests.","body":"(a) A peace officer may arrest a person when the officer has a warrant commanding that the person be arrested or the officer has reasonable grounds for believing that a warrant for the person's arrest has been issued in this state or in another jurisdiction.\n(b) A peace officer may arrest a person without a warrant when:\n(i) Any criminal offense is being committed in the officer's presence by the person to be arrested;\n(ii) The officer has probable cause to believe that a felony has been committed and that the person to be arrested has committed it; or\n(iii) The officer has probable cause to believe that a misdemeanor has been committed, that the person to be arrested has committed it and that the person, unless immediately arrested:\n(A) Will not be apprehended;\n(B) May cause injury to himself or others or damage to property; or\n(C) May destroy or conceal evidence of the commission of the misdemeanor.","path":["TITLE 7 - CRIMINAL PROCEDURE","CHAPTER 2 - PEACE OFFICERS"],"source_url":"https://wyoleg.gov/statutes/compress/title07.pdf","current_through":"2026 Budget Session; as of 2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:16:32Z","sha256":"87c7cdf22088d79d0f447fb13e417d0fd7158c9e7b5e198289ab21f69d9cb8ca","source_id":"us-wy","stale":false,"prev":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-7-2-101","next":"us-wy/wyo.-stat.-7-2-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
