{"data":{"id":"us/10-cfr-35.310","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"10 CFR 35.310","heading":"Safety instruction.","body":"In addition to the requirements of § 19.12 of this chapter,\n(a) A licensee shall provide radiation safety instruction, initially and at least annually, to personnel caring for patients or human research subjects who cannot be released under § 35.75. To satisfy this requirement, the instruction must be commensurate with the duties of the personnel and include—\n(1) Patient or human research subject control;\n(2) Visitor control, including—\n(i) Routine visitation to hospitalized individuals in accordance with § 20.1301(a)(1) of this chapter; and\n(ii) Visitation authorized in accordance with § 20.1301(c) of this chapter;\n(3) Contamination control;\n(4) Waste control; and\n(5) Notification of the Radiation Safety Officer, or his or her designee, and an authorized user if the patient or the human research subject has a medical emergency or dies.\n(b) A licensee shall retain a record of individuals receiving instruction in accordance with § 35.2310.","path":["Title 10—Energy","CHAPTER I—NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION","PART 35—MEDICAL USE OF BYPRODUCT MATERIAL","Subpart E—Unsealed Byproduct Material—Written Directive Required"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-10.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:24:09Z","sha256":"3cf02b1da699e61d3e73b0ec9c766060db65c93c85e1f365f417ae0acb7ad22a","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/10-cfr-35.300","next":"us/10-cfr-35.315"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
