{"data":{"id":"us/13-cfr-134.219","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"13 CFR 134.219","heading":"Sanctions.","body":"(a) A Judge may impose appropriate sanctions, except for fees, costs, or monetary penalties, which he or she deems necessary to serve the ends of justice, if a party or its attorney:\n(1) Fails to comply with an order of the Judge;\n(2) Fails to comply with the rules set forth in this part;\n(3) Acts in bad faith or for purposes of delay or harassment;\n(4) Submits false statements knowingly, recklessly, or with deliberate disregard for the truth; or\n(5) Otherwise acts in an unethical or disruptive manner.\n(b) Appropriate sanctions may include:\n(1) Ordering a pleading or evidentiary filing to be struck from the record;\n(2) Dismissing an appeal with prejudice;\n(3) Suspending counsel from practice before OHA;\n(4) Filing a complaint with the applicable State bar; and\n(5) Taking any other action that is appropriate to further the administration of justice.","path":["Title 13—Business Credit and Assistance","CHAPTER I—SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION","PART 134—RULES OF PROCEDURE GOVERNING CASES BEFORE THE OFFICE OF HEARINGS AND APPEALS","Subpart B—Rules of Practice"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-13.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:24:18Z","sha256":"4d6dedb51ad2dbd48887031c6525f0e026ee0d50f9bb1d6b0b3a6e6dbee783f0","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/13-cfr-134.218","next":"us/13-cfr-134.220"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
