{"data":{"id":"us/14-cfr-151.37","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"14 CFR 151.37","heading":"Sponsor eligibility.","body":"To be eligible to apply for an individual or joint project for development with respect to a particular airport a sponsor must—\n(a) Be a public agency, which includes for the purposes of this part only, a State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam or an agency of any of them; a municipality or other political subdivision; a tax-supported organization; or the United States or an agency thereof;\n(b) Be legally, financially, and otherwise able to—\n(1) Make the certifications, representations, and warranties in the application form prescribed in § 151.67(a);\n(2) Make, keep, and perform the assurances, agreements, and covenants in that form; and\n(3) Meet the other applicable requirements of the Federal Airport Act and subparts B and C;\n(c) Have, or be able to obtain, enough funds to meet the requirements of § 151.23; and\n(d) Have, or be able to obtain, property interests that meet the requirements of § 151.25(a).\nFor the purpose of paragraph (a) of this section, the United States, or an agency thereof, is not eligible for a project under subparts B and C, unless the project—\n(1) Is located in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, or Guam;\n(2) Is in or is in close proximity to a national park, a national recreation area, or a national monument; or\n(3) Is in a national forest or a special reservation for United States purposes.","path":["Title 14—Aeronautics and Space","CHAPTER I—FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION","SUBCHAPTER I—AIRPORTS","PART 151—FEDERAL AID TO AIRPORTS","Subpart B—Rules and Procedures for Airport Development Projects"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-14.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:24:20Z","sha256":"97e0ffe5782103bded32e5ae5901b867f4d6f0855d0fbf1f11025b2bc5132466","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/14-cfr-151.35","next":"us/14-cfr-151.39"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
