{"data":{"id":"us/14-cfr-21.329","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"14 CFR 21.329","heading":"Issuance of export certificates of airworthiness.","body":"(a) A person may obtain from the FAA an export certificate of airworthiness for an aircraft if—\n(1) A new or used aircraft manufactured under subpart F or G of this part meets the requirements under subpart H of this part for a—\n(i) Standard airworthiness certificate; or\n(ii) Special airworthiness certificate in either the “primary” or the “restricted” category; or\n(2) A new or used aircraft not manufactured under subpart F or G of this part has a valid—\n(i) Standard airworthiness certificate; or\n(ii) Special airworthiness certificate in either the “primary” or the “restricted” category.\n(b) An aircraft need not meet a requirement specified in paragraph (a) of this section, as applicable, if—\n(1) The importing country or jurisdiction accepts, in a form and manner acceptable to the FAA, a deviation from that requirement; and\n(2) The export certificate of airworthiness lists as an exception any difference between the aircraft to be exported and its type design.","path":["Title 14—Aeronautics and Space","CHAPTER I—FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION","SUBCHAPTER C—AIRCRAFT","PART 21—CERTIFICATION PROCEDURES FOR PRODUCTS AND ARTICLES","Subpart L—Export Airworthiness Approvals"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-14.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:24:20Z","sha256":"497ba420195cfe1971a8ac8e433c43e5df1a3840c2848d419da97dc6b284b916","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/14-cfr-21.327","next":"us/14-cfr-21.331"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
