{"data":{"id":"us/19-cfr-115.63","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"19 CFR 115.63","heading":"Application for approval.","body":"Each application by a manufacturer for certification of a road vehicle by design type must include:\n(a) Three copies, each no larger than 3 feet by 4 feet, of the Customs and TIR plan;\n(b) Customs and TIR plan number;\n(c) Three copies of the specifications which include the following information:\n(1) The name and address of the manufacturer and the owner; and\n(2) A description of the road vehicle including the:\n(i) Particulars of construction;\n(ii) Dimensions;\n(iii) Construction materials; and\n(iv) Marks and numbers, including chassis, engine, and registration numbers.\n(d) A statement signed by the manufacturer that:\n(1) It will present vehicles of the type concerned to the Certifying Authority which that Authority may wish to examine;\n(2) Permit the Certifying Authority to examine further units at any time during or after the production run;\n(3) Notify the Certifying Authority of each change in the design or specifications before adoption;\n(4) Mark the road vehicles in a visible place with the identification number or letters of the design type and the serial number of the vehicle in the type series manufacturer's number; and\n(5) Keep a record of vehicles manufactured according to the design type.","path":["Title 19—Customs Duties","CHAPTER I—U.S. CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION, DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY; DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY","PART 115—CARGO CONTAINER AND ROAD VEHICLE CERTIFICATION PURSUANT TO INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS CONVENTIONS","Subpart F—Procedures for Approval of Road Vehicles by Design Type"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-19.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:24:40Z","sha256":"38070706ecc8c981a8e0dab98721877b97e968c3430e6e5e74a8b4533f157daf","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/19-cfr-115.62","next":"us/19-cfr-115.64"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
