{"data":{"id":"us/25-cfr-62.4","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"25 CFR 62.4","heading":"Who may appeal.","body":"(a) A person who is the subject of an adverse enrollment action may file or have filed on his/her behalf an appeal. An adverse enrollment action is:\n(1) The rejection of an application for enrollment by a Bureau official incident to the preparation of a roll for Secretarial approval;\n(2) The removal of a name from a tribal roll by a Bureau official incident to review of the roll for Secretarial approval;\n(3) The rejection of an application for enrollment or the disenrollment of a tribal member by a tribal committee when the tribal governing document provides for an appeal of the action to the Secretary;\n(4) The change in degree of Indian blood by a tribal committee which affects a tribal member when the tribal governing document provides for an appeal of the action to the Secretary;\n(5) The change in degree of Indian blood by a Bureau official which affects an individual; and\n(6) The certification of degree of Indian blood by a Bureau official which affects an individual.\n(b) A tribal committee may file an appeal as provided for in § 61.11 of this chapter.\n(c) A sponsor may file an appeal on behalf of another person who is subject to an adverse enrollment action.","path":["Title 25—Indians","CHAPTER I—BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS, DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR","SUBCHAPTER F—TRIBAL GOVERNMENT","PART 62—ENROLLMENT APPEALS"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-25.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:24:59Z","sha256":"cd216a1e69b3fa49dc948b96b41541033a223e28b12cff45a594e721bab93c7f","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/25-cfr-62.3","next":"us/25-cfr-62.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
