{"data":{"id":"us/30-cfr-57.6202","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"30 CFR 57.6202","heading":"Vehicles.","body":"(a) Vehicles containing explosive material shall be—\n(1) Maintained in good condition and shall comply with the requirements of subpart M of this part;\n(2) Equipped with sides and enclosures higher than the explosive material being transported or have the explosive material secured to a nonconductive pallet;\n(3) Equipped with a cargo space that shall contain the explosive material (passenger areas shall not be considered cargo space);\n(4) Equipped with at least two multipurpose dry-chemical fire extinguishers or one such extinguisher and an automatic fire suppression system;\n(5) Posted with warning signs that indicate the contents and are visible from each approach;\n(6) Occupied only by persons necessary for handling the explosive material;\n(7) Attended or the cargo compartment locked at surface areas of underground mines, except when parked at the blast site and loading is in progress; and\n(8) Secured while parked by having—\n(i) The brakes set;\n(ii) The wheels chocked if movement could occur; and\n(iii) The engine shut off unless powering a device being used in the loading operation.\n(b) Vehicles containing explosives shall have—\n(1) No sparking material exposed in the cargo space; and\n(2) Only properly secured nonsparking equipment in the cargo space with the explosives.\n(c) Vehicles used for dispensing bulk explosive material shall—\n(1) Have no zinc or copper exposed in the cargo space; and\n(2) Provide any enclosed screw-type conveyors with protection against internal pressure and frictional heat.","path":["Title 30—Mineral Resources","CHAPTER I—MINE SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION, DEPARTMENT OF LABOR","SUBCHAPTER K—METAL AND NONMETAL MINE SAFETY AND HEALTH","PART 57—SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDS—UNDERGROUND METAL AND NONMETAL MINES","Subpart E—Explosives"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-30.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:25:24Z","sha256":"d2bd4e971d6add1c31e1ac9959269bf138b6522b89e3bc9179174808e47274c5","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/30-cfr-57.6201","next":"us/30-cfr-57.6203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
