{"data":{"id":"us/32-cfr-935.136","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"32 CFR 935.136","heading":"General operating rules.","body":"No person may, while on Wake Island—\n(a) Operate a motor vehicle in a careless or reckless manner;\n(b) Operate or occupy a motor vehicle while he is under the influence of a drug or intoxicant;\n(c) Consume an alcoholic beverage (including beer, ale, or wine) while he is in a motor vehicle;\n(d) Operate a motor vehicle that is overloaded or is carrying more passengers than it was designed to carry;\n(e) Ride on the running board, step, or outside of the body of a moving motor vehicle;\n(f) Ride a moving motor vehicle with his arm or leg protruding, except when using the left arm to signal a turn;\n(g) Operate a motor vehicle in a speed contest or drag race;\n(h) Park a motor vehicle for a period longer than the posted time limit;\n(i) Stop, park, or operate a motor vehicle in a manner that impedes or blocks traffic;\n(j) Park a motor vehicle in an unposted area, except adjacent to the right-hand curb or edge of the road;\n(k) Park a motor vehicle in a reserved or restricted parking area that is not assigned to him;\n(l) Sound the horn of a motor vehicle, except as a warning signal;\n(m) Operate a tracked or cleated vehicle in a manner that damages a paved or compacted surface;\n(n) Operate any motor vehicle contrary to a posted traffic sign;\n(o) Operate a motor vehicle as to follow any other vehicle closer than is safe under the circumstances;\n(p) Operate a motor vehicle off of established roads, or in a cross-country manner, except when necessary in conducting business;\n(q) Operate a motor vehicle at night or when raining on the traveled part of a street or road, without using operating headlights; or\n(r) Operate a motor vehicle without each passenger wearing a safety belt; this shall not apply to military combat vehicles designed and fabricated without safety belts.","path":["Title 32—National Defense","Subtitle A—Department of Defense","CHAPTER VII—DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE","SUBCHAPTER N—TERRITORIAL AND INSULAR REGULATIONS","PART 935—WAKE ISLAND CODE","Subpart N—Motor Vehicle Code"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-32.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:25:30Z","sha256":"50db179f32458fd9b9480283fa6dfcf0f9217a10a60929da3b180d2b3e886405","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/32-cfr-935.135","next":"us/32-cfr-935.137"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
