{"data":{"id":"us/34-cfr-690.75","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"34 CFR 690.75","heading":"Determination of eligibility for payment.","body":"(a) For each payment period, an institution may pay a Federal Pell Grant to an eligible student only after it determines that the student—\n(1) Qualifies as an eligible student under 34 CFR part 668, subpart C;\n(2) Is enrolled in an eligible program as an undergraduate student; and\n(3) If enrolled in a credit hour program without terms or a clock hour program, has completed the payment period as defined in § 668.4 for which he or she has been paid a Federal Pell Grant.\n(b) If an institution determines at the beginning of a payment period that a student is not maintaining satisfactory progress, but reverses that determination before the end of the payment period, the institution may pay a Federal Pell Grant to the student for the entire payment period.\n(c) If an institution determines at the beginning of a payment period that a student is not maintaining satisfactory progress, but reverses that determination after the end of the payment period, the institution may neither pay the student a Federal Pell Grant for that payment period nor make adjustments in subsequent Federal Pell Grant payments to compensate for the loss of aid for that period.","path":["Title 34—Education","Subtitle B—Regulations of the Offices of the Department of Education","CHAPTER VI—OFFICE OF POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION","PART 690—FEDERAL PELL GRANT PROGRAM","Subpart G—Administration of Grant Payments"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-34.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:25:40Z","sha256":"92403adeeaa05466c8d0200d38a9cfc366023db780de9c351916355180e40855","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/34-cfr-690.72-690.74","next":"us/34-cfr-690.76"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
