{"data":{"id":"us/34-cfr-75.200","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"34 CFR 75.200","heading":"How applications for new discretionary grants and cooperative agreements are selected for funding; standards for use of cooperative agreements.","body":"(a) The Secretary uses selection criteria to evaluate the applications submitted for new grants under a discretionary grant program.\n(b) To evaluate the applications for new grants under the program, the Secretary may use—\n(1) Selection criteria established under § 75.209;\n(2) Selection criteria in § 75.210; or\n(3) Any combination of criteria from paragraphs (b)(1) and (2) of this section.\n(c)(1) The Secretary may award a cooperative agreement instead of a grant if the Secretary determines that substantial involvement between the Department and the recipient is necessary to carry out a collaborative project.\n(2) The Secretary uses the selection procedures in this subpart to select recipients of cooperative agreements.","path":["Title 34—Education","Subtitle A—Office of the Secretary, Department of Education","PART 75—DIRECT GRANT PROGRAMS","Subpart D—How Grants Are Made"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-34.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:25:40Z","sha256":"f3017e0a8651b1b38c46753298d9beaa21d96302a74c6c22c7266726ec3c7945","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/34-cfr-75.190-75.192","next":"us/34-cfr-75.201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
