{"data":{"id":"us/36-cfr-291.17","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"36 CFR 291.17","heading":"Permit reports.","body":"Permit reports must contain the following information as appropriate:\n(a) Permittee(s)' name, title, affiliation, and professional contact information;\n(b) Permit number;\n(c) Date of report;\n(d) Project name, number, or reference;\n(e) Description of project, methodology, or summary of research scope of work;\n(f) Dates of field work;\n(g) Name(s) of people who performed field work;\n(h) Description of work performed or accomplished and a summary of results and discoveries;\n(i) Summary of regional or local geology and/or paleontology including context, geography, stratigraphy, and geological unit;\n(j) Identification of potential impacts to paleontological resources by proposed land use action;\n(k) Mitigation recommendations to address potential paleontological resource impacts;\n(l) Relevant literature citations;\n(m) Relevant associated records, including anything that aids in explaining, clarifying, or understanding the findings;\n(n) Listing of collected paleontological resources, including field numbers and field identifications that are referenced to specific localities;\n(o) Repository name, identifying acronym, and address;\n(p) Repository official name, title, and contact information;\n(q) Approved repository accession and/or catalog number(s);\n(r) Assigned locality numbers;\n(s) Administrative area (State, county, ranger district, forest, and so forth);\n(t) Map name, source, size, edition, projection, datum, and/or other mapping information;\n(u) Geographic location, survey data, and/or related metadata;\n(v) Paleontological taxa collected, observed, or in a repository;\n(w) Resource identifications, condition, location, and quantity; and\n(x) Recommendations or information for the approved repository regarding the condition or care of collected resources or associated records.","path":["Title 36—Parks, Forests, and Public Property","CHAPTER II—FOREST SERVICE, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE","PART 291—PALEONTOLOGICAL RESOURCES PRESERVATION"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-36.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:25:44Z","sha256":"15198a15b4c7159ba8c888cc10dc28e7b4333d063163a81f11e8c0d7e5aa57d8","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/36-cfr-291.16","next":"us/36-cfr-291.18"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
