{"data":{"id":"us/36-cfr-6.12","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"36 CFR 6.12","heading":"Prohibited acts and penalties.","body":"(a) The following are prohibited:\n(1) Operating a solid waste disposal site without a permit issued under § 6.9 or, where applicable, without approval granted under § 6.7(c);\n(2) Operating a solid waste disposal site without the proper amount or form of bond or security deposit, as prescribed by the Regional Director, when such a bond or security deposit is required by this part;\n(3) Operating a solid waste disposal site in violation of a term or a requirement of a National Park Service issued permit; or\n(4) Operating a solid waste disposal site in violation of 40 CFR Parts 257 or 258, or in violation of the equivalent State law or regulation.\n(b) A person who violates a provision of paragraph (a) of this section is subject to:\n(1) The penalty provisions of 36 CFR 1.3; and/or\n(2) Revocation of the permit by the Regional Director if a permit exists; and/or\n(3) Forfeiture of a bond or security deposit if a bond or security deposit is required under § 6.10.","path":["Title 36—Parks, Forests, and Public Property","CHAPTER I—NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR","PART 6—SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL SITES IN UNITS OF THE NATIONAL PARK SYSTEM"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-36.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:25:44Z","sha256":"6d39e1201d142840f68e6ada4174cbedfaecacfdd16e40e4c013befc1d8cd731","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/36-cfr-6.11","next":"us/36-cfr-7.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
